I would like to warmly welcome you to our new school website. We hope that you enjoy finding out about our school and viewing our photographs and news.
Our school is a forward-thinking village school that also enjoys village traditions and is part of a strong community. We have an exciting curriculum that values strong core learning as well as the links between concepts across all subjects. We ensure subjects are progressive, build on prior learning and are inspiring and well taught. Every individual child is valued at our school and we offer a broad and balanced curriculum and a range of experiences to allow them to discover their loves and talents.

We have had a great week despite the rain - children have worked hard, played sport and been physically active ... and braved the rain as much as they could! The archery team made us proud. Year Two and Three parents, you may hear of an invasion of classrooms that took place today to teach what it felt like! It was great fun.

If any of you are in a position to support us with an exciting car or your mechanical or engineering skills on the 18th June, please could you email in for the attention of a very excited Mr Haddon?

The photos are of Year Three's DT learning in our bakery. Miss Hartney said:

"As part of our Healthy Eating topic - in our Design and Technology using some fruit and vegetables. We discussed how we should always keep fingers away from the blade, hold the knife handle with a firm grip, cut on the chopping board, secure the piece of food with the claw hold when cutting small pieces and secure the piece of food with the bridge hold when we are cutting food in half.

It was a lovely lesson in a different environment and we each got an apple at the end for all our hard work!"

Thank you also to Mrs Raynor and Coach Sami for taking an active role in the session (and for those families in the know about Miss Hartney's cookery skills - you will know why!)

Have a great bank holiday weekend, whatever the weather brings!
